A police officer from the Sør-Øst police district in Norway has been accused of domestic abuse against his partner over several years.
The officer, who denies the charges, was arrested on December 10 and has been in custody since.
The case is being investigated by Oslo police to ensure impartiality, as the accused works in the same district where the alleged abuse occurred.
His lawyer, Heidi Reisvang, stated that the officer finds the accusations baseless and has cooperated with the investigation to clear his name.
Despite appealing his detention, the court upheld the decision to keep him in custody until January 8. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities gathering evidence to determine the full scope of the case.
