Oslo has lifted the boil water advisory that affected around 130,000 residents after tests indicated potential contamination at the Skullerud water treatment plant.
The advisory was initially issued on July 18 due to the discovery of bacteria, prompting residents in the districts of Søndre Nordstrand, Nordstrand, Østensjø, and parts of Nordre Follo to boil their drinking water.
Following extensive testing and monitoring, the water has now been declared safe for consumption.
Communication officials from the water and sewage agency expressed gratitude for the public's patience during the investigation.
The exact source of the contamination remains unknown, but officials are continuing to analyze water samples to prevent future incidents.
