Norway's 2025 Budget Deal Reached

Norway's government parties and the Socialist Left Party (SV) have reached an agreement on the 2025 national budget after extended negotiations.

The deal includes a halt on seabed mineral extraction licenses for the coming year and an expansion of the dental care reform to cover individuals up to 28 years old.

Additionally, the budget allocates funds to increase staffing in kindergartens and after-school programs.

The agreement also involves a significant increase in oil fund spending, which is expected to impact interest rates, according to economic experts.

While the ruling parties celebrate the budget's provisions for pensioners, students, and families, opposition parties criticize the lack of prioritization and reliance on oil fund reserves.
