Norway Demands Action on Power Prices

The Norwegian Parliament has unanimously called on the government to introduce extraordinary measures to address soaring electricity prices in southern regions.

The motion, proposed by the Red Party, urges the use of specific tools like bottleneck revenues to alleviate the financial burden on residents in areas such as Rogaland, Agder, Vestfold, and Telemark.

Sofie Marhaug, deputy leader of the Red Party, emphasized that this is a strong message from Parliament that more needs to be done.

While the exact measures remain unclear, the demand reflects growing frustration over the high energy costs affecting households and businesses.
