Norway Braces for Severe Winds

Published: 2024-09-29

Meteorologists have issued warnings for severe weather conditions across Norway, with strong winds expected in both the north and south of the country.

In the northern regions of Nordland, Troms, and Finnmark, powerful gusts are anticipated from Monday night into Tuesday, with the potential for very strong winds in Troms and Finnmark.

Residents are advised to take precautionary measures to minimize damage.

Meanwhile, in the southern regions from the Swedish border to Lindesnes, a yellow warning has been issued for gale-force winds on Wednesday morning and afternoon.

The winds, reaching up to 20 meters per second, are expected to be particularly strong in the Inner Skagerrak area.

Authorities recommend avoiding small boat outings during this period.
