In a significant political shift, Lom Mayor Kristian Frisvold has been appointed as the leader of a newly established local branch of the Conservative Party in Lom.
This move comes after Frisvold's departure from the Høyre party, following his vocal criticism of the ruling parties, including Arbeiderpartiet, Høyre, and MDG, over their decision to close several schools in Innlandet.
Frisvold, who was previously associated with Bygdalista, has expressed his commitment to representing conservative voters who feel let down by the current political landscape.
Despite acknowledging the Conservative Party's limited influence, Frisvold believes it can gain traction in Innlandet due to dissatisfaction with the current administration's policies.
His leadership marks a new chapter for the party, which was formerly known as Partiet de kristne.
