The Helseplattformen project, a new patient record system in Midt-Norge, has come under severe criticism from Riksrevisjonen for threatening patient safety and reducing healthcare efficiency.
Initially budgeted at 4.1 billion kroner, the project has already cost 6.7 billion, with annual maintenance expected to reach 800 million kroner.
The system, intended to streamline healthcare processes, has instead led to increased waiting lists, medication errors, and communication failures.
Health professionals have reported significant issues, including a tragic case where a delayed cancer diagnosis led to a patient's death.
Calls for government intervention and additional funding are growing, as the system's future costs remain uncertain.
