A significant gas leak at Herøya Industripark in Porsgrunn has led to the evacuation of approximately 3,400 employees.
The leak, described as substantial, prompted the park's director, Sverre Gotaas, to close the entire industrial area for safety reasons.
Employees are being moved to gas-safe locations, with many currently in the cafeteria.
Fortunately, Gotaas reassured that there is no danger to the surrounding environment, as the gas is settling close to the ground and the wind conditions are calm.
The facility has activated a factory alarm to ensure everyone reaches safety promptly.
