The Progress Party (Frp) in Norway has seen a significant rise in popularity, according to a recent Opinion poll.
The party, led by Sylvi Listhaug, has gained 3.5 percentage points, reaching 20.3% support, marking its best performance since April 2011. This surge places Frp as the second-largest party in the country, surpassing the Labour Party (Ap), which has fallen to 18.5%.
Together with the Conservative Party (Høyre), Frp is just four seats short of a parliamentary majority.
The poll, conducted for Altinget and ABC Nyheter, suggests a potential shift in Norwegian politics, with some experts speculating that Listhaug could become a future prime minister if the trend continues.
The poll was conducted between September 23 and 30, with a margin of error between 1.0 and 3.1 percentage points.
