Birth in Oslo Intersection Causes Traffic Chaos

Published: 2024-08-12

A dramatic event unfolded in Oslo's Sinsen intersection on Monday morning when a woman went into labor, causing significant traffic disruptions.

Police and ambulance services were dispatched to the scene, where they cordoned off a bus lane and one traffic lane, leaving only one lane open for vehicles.

This led to considerable congestion in the area, as commuters faced delays on their way into the city.

The birth took place in a car at a bus stop, with medical personnel attending to the mother and newborn.

By 8:50 AM, the mother and her baby were safely transported to the hospital, and the roads were reopened shortly after.

The incident coincided with the first workday after the holidays, exacerbating the already heavy traffic conditions in Oslo.
