AUF Targets Young Male Voters

Published: 2024-08-02

The AUF, Norway's Labour Party youth organization, is taking steps to address the declining support among young male voters.

With only 6% of men aged 20-25 voting for the Labour Party in the last local elections, AUF leader Astrid Hoem emphasizes the need to tackle issues faced by young men, similar to their focus on women's challenges.

During their summer camp on Utøya, AUF invited TikTok influencers to engage in discussions about how to connect with this demographic.

Influencer Gard Øksendal, known as Mankegard, highlighted the importance of addressing men's problems genuinely, as the right-wing parties have been quicker to engage with these issues.

The AUF aims to reshape its communication strategy to resonate better with young men, recognizing that many feel overlooked in current political discourse.
