As winter approaches, health officials in Agder are urging elderly residents and those in risk groups to receive a COVID-19 booster shot.
With a new variant, KP.
3, emerging, the region anticipates a rise in cases.
Currently, 55% of those aged 65 and over in Agder are vaccinated, slightly above the national average.
Vaccination efforts will begin in Kristiansand on October 1, with other areas like Grimstad and Lindesnes following suit after the autumn break.
The booster is crucial as the Folkehelseinstituttet warns of potential increases in COVID-19 cases during the colder months.
Residents are also encouraged to maintain good hygiene practices to curb the spread of infections.
